'I've become less anxious at work, especially when talking to strangers, and am able to deal with social anxiety a lot better.' ASD adult, Cornwall, August 2018

Training
'Thank you for an excellent training course the trainer really knew what she was talking about. Had a great wealth of knowledge and offered practical solutions to a range of questions. Great content - very practical and realistic approaches offered. I found the whole thing extremely helpful. I was thinking the whole way through that would help so and so and so and so could benefit from that. Excellent course thank you!' Professional, July 2018

'Thanks Karen for all information and for a really great day! I'm so glad I found this course on the Internet! Hope that, some day, eyes will open in Sweden for PDA.' Parent, Gothenburg, Sweden, June 2018

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
'I am in my late 40’s and had always suffered with I guess what is probably labelled as some sort of social anxiety. I remember feeling this way even as a young child. If you met me you wouldn’t see it but I really suffered. I just wasn’t comfortable in social situations (and I am in them frequently). I always worried about what I would say next and the need to be interesting and keep the conversation going. I knew it wasn’t right but I didn’t know how to change it. The guidance Cathy provided was incredible. Key observations made it crystal clear to me about how I was ‘stuck' in this cycle. From our first meeting I was armed with information on how to change it and from that moment on my life changed. I still can’t quite believe, after a lifetime of suffering, that all that worry has melted away. I will be forever grateful. Amanda, Herts, April 2018

'Thank you so much for all your hard work yesterday, I think word got out about how good your 1st Workshop was and even though we told delegates, in the break that your 2nd session was full, I think they did a bit of 'gate crashing'. PDA Society Trustee, April 2018

Coaching
'I want to thank you because we have never felt like anyone could understand our challenges and to see that you do and believe us is the first experience we have had with feeling heard on this matter...also you have ideas about strategies. Above and beyond. Even seeing that you lived through raising a kiddo with similar difficulties is hopeful for us...first time we have felt “hope” in years...so thanks.' Parents, BC,Canada (after 1st session) March 2018

Training
'I wanted to contact you to say how helpful your recent PDA training session was (19/01/18), although I’d read lots about PDA and felt this was something my daughter has as part of her ASD diagnosis it helped provide a good few ‘lightbulb’ moments. I am spotting areas of behaviour that I hadn’t before and feel better able to manage them positively. I’ve had feedback from the school as one of Hazel’s 1:1 TA’s attended with me, they have said the TA really enjoyed the course.' Parent, Feb 2018

'Hi Karen, I just wanted to say a big thank you from all of us at the fostering home that attended your training in Wolverhampton. I cannot emphasise how timely and useful the training was. Some of the strategies you discussed in the training we are now putting into place for a very complex young man we are all working with. This includes foster parents and the school, we are seeing positive results so far (fingers crossed). A big thanks again we all enjoyed it and hope to work with you again in the future. Heath (professional), Feb 2018

'Following your great coaching Cathy, life with my son is now is pretty amazing. Since our sessions with you we have been practicing all the coaching and the results are fantastic. Arran has responded so well and his social development has improved beyond belief. He can in some ways be at times even more considerate than his neurotypical peers!' Parent, Kent, Feb 2018

Training 'One of the best courses I have been on as a SENCO. Thank you! I feel more confident in approaching challenging situations.' Professional, Jan 2018

Coaching
'I found out about the Family Coaching whilst on the PDA Training Course delivered by Karen (Oct 2017), and I knew then I needed to arrange some sessions, as my 6 year old daughter (ASD + PDA) was controlling me and my confidence as a mum had hit rock bottom. Within that first session with Anna I knew my life had changed. After several sessions my confidence is back and my daughter knows it! THANK YOU! Janet (parent), West Sussex, Jan 2018

Coaching
'My husband was diagnosed with ADHD in his 30’s, this helped us to finally understand the reasons for his struggles (multiple job losses, apathy, low self-esteem, to name a few) but we couldn’t find the support he needed (or even figure out what he needed) and at every turn the NHS let us down. Thankfully we found Cathy and I don’t say lightly that she helped to save our marriage and turn my husband’s life around. Coaching with Cathy has unlocked his confidence and self-worth and desire to live a full life. We were at a point 6 months ago where even making weekend plans resulted full scale breakdown, thanks to Cathy’s coaching we are now enjoying the process of planning for our future and my husband can fully contribute to our family life. Of course we still have struggles but now we have tools to help us overcome them and move forward as a family. Sincere thanks for all your support in 2017 and wishing you a great 2018.' Clare, Herts. 'Hi Karen, Thank you for the fantastic workshop last Friday! It was very informative, full of great advice and strategies and you broke it down in a really simple and approachable way. I really got a lot out of it and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you for your support, it's given me confidence in my approach with my child and positivity for her future.' Nicky (parent) Jan 2018

Coaching
'I am just taking a moment to appreciate what a different space I am in compared to this time last year. The adjustments I have made have helped enormously, and I managed to completely avoid a potential blow out situation a few days before Christmas. Deep Gratitude.' Parent (previous client), Monmouthshire, Jan 2018

Coaching
'My husband and I were recommended Side by Side Coaching through a friend, who for a long time suspected that our son is on the autistic spectrum. It took me over a year to finally make contact with Cathy (even saying the word autism made me cry!) but I am very glad that we did. We were quickly put into contact with Anna and in what felt like no time at all we were sitting having our first session. All so very simple! Anna is extremely organised and efficient, and our 5 sessions were booked in advance. I am an emotional person who wears her heart on her sleeve but the calm, supportive and non-judgmental manner of Anna made me feel much better about the future and indeed events in the past. I feel that my husband and I were on the right tracks when we met her, but Anna's guidance and gentle suggestions helped us to make a few changes at home. Our son is in a much happier place (most probably because he can sense that we are happier parents !). At all times, Anna reassured us that we know our son better than anyone and her suggestions were not rules. In fact, we are all on a journey with our children whether they are on the autistic spectrum or not. Anna's own experience and knowledge clearly enabled her to empathise with us and I will miss our chats. I thoroughly recommend this style of help and support to anyone with children on the autistic spectrum.' Parent, Surrey, Dec 2017

This has resulted in a much calmer and happier family life all round. Enrolling in Cathy's help was the best decision we made.' Parent, Berks, Nov 2017

'Big thank you! I just want to take some time now that I have had chance to digest everything from Friday to say a huge thank you! I didn’t write anything on your feed back sheet as I have my own issues to do with dyslexia which give me anxiety filling in things like that. However I wanted you to know how helpful, informative, enlightening it was and how engaging you where as an instructor. I have already started to use the new way of praising, as well as putting pressure on him. I realised this is actually something xxxxx has been wanting for a long time when he asks me to lie on him. Thank you again for everything,' Clair, November 2017

Coaching

Coaching
'I am in awe of the extent of the success coaching has had on our lives. I did not have expectations when I began, it was a desperate time and I had limited options. We are now regulated, without medication, and have our lives back. Our gratitude is limitless.
1. I have not been physically hurt for nearly a year.
2. Nothing has been destroyed purposefully, for nearly 6 months.
3. My 7-year-old daughter has begun to manage her own strategies during meltdowns.
4. We have not missed a day of school in over six months.
5. We can travel safely in the car.
Spread the word, make this as available to as may people as possible.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.' Parent, India, Aug 2017

'Cathy I honestly can't thank you enough! Out of everybody we have worked with and tried different techniques you are the only one who has truly listened and understood. Without your help and belief in me I could have given up and have felt like that a few times. It really does mean so much to me. Thank you once again for the help you have given me, it has made a huge difference for my parenting and understanding and how it must be for my daughter..... You are a wonderful lady Cathy.' Kim, West Sussex, July 2017

'Thank you so much for that wonderful course. I could not have anticipated how much I would learn and it was so lovely to meet other parents. I put some of the strategies into force when I got home and they worked. I have a lot to learn and adapt to help ****** but I feel more confident now and have a much greater understanding of his condition.' Angela, Kent Thank you. July 2017

Coaching
'Thank you thank you, I can never say this enough! You are wonderful, inspiring and have helped me regain my confidence and life. That is no understatement!!.' Parent Lincs June 2017

Coaching
'The coaching was for my daughter following two unhelpful attempts at counselling. Cathy gave her practical strategies and a way forward. Her anxiety and depression have been significantly reduced, she is sleeping better and seems more in control of her own life. She is much calmer, much less prone to meltdowns and recovers much better after them. Her relationship with her sister seems better. The coaching was very expensive for us as a family but in my opinion the benefit cannot have a price put on it. I was struggling to see a future for my daughter, but now I think we can both see a future ahead for her.' Helen, Herefordshire, June 2017

Coaching
'Cathy acknowledged me as a human first, a parent and wife second. I felt validated and empowered to make some big decisions I've needed to take for a long time. Thank you!' June 2017

Training
'I went on Karen’s one day training course in early February and I am so very glad I did. I gained so much knowledge about PDA which fit so exactly with my experience of my 5 year old daughter that that in itself felt incredibly supportive as I knew that I was not alone and that there were many ways to support and help her – and me - and that in itself has made more difference to my life than I can express in words. The insight into PDA also made me more empathetic and instantly calmer (thought I have to work on this daily!) and the knowledge I gained, along with a discussion with another Mum in the break enabled me to go from her not sleeping until midnight with me in her room to her falling asleep on her own in her room in less than a week. Three months later, I am still processing the information, practicing the skills and going back to my notes again and again, and I am finding this very supportive and helpful. My daughter’s father has just done the course also and the difference I have seen in his response to her when she becomes angry and overwhelmed is incredible. He remains calm and diffuses a situation which might have previously escalated. I am so very grateful for Side by Side and to Karen. She is a fantastic role model, having been through it all herself, and a great trainer, ensuring she gets through the important material whilst adapting to the needs of the group. I urge any parent who thinks their child might have PDA to go on the course – it is a tiny investment for a huge reward. Thank you Side by Side!' Parent, April 2017

'Dear Karen, I just wanted to let you know that 'my' little boy has exceeded everyone's expectations.  With the help of 'Handwriting Without Tears', giving him choices , lots of patience, reassurance and  a reward chart, his reading has increased by two levels, his handwriting is independent and legible and his violent outbursts have ceased.
I found your course invaluable and wanted to say thank you. It gave me the confidence and belief that I could and would help him in a school environment.  Sincere thanks.'1-1 TA, April 2017

'Hi Karen just wanted to say thank you very much for yesterday we have found it very useful and are looking forward to some brighter times ahead. I'm so glad my partner came he is eventually on the same page as me so I know longer feel that I am fighting a loosing battle.  When we arrived home yesterday we managed to avoid one meltdown completely and calm another down a lot quicker and stop it escalating further just by working together and using the things we learnt yesterday so thank you so much 🙂 ' Jane, London. April 2017

Coaching
'I stumbled across Cathy's contacts on an ASD website at a particularly difficult life stage for my 9 year old Asperger daughter. Our precious child was deeply anxious and unhappy, and that effected the whole family. It was a low point for us all. Calling Cathy that day was a serendipitous moment that would change our family life. Cathy taught me and my husband the strategies and skills we needed to get our family life back on track and gave us the knowledge we needed to put us on a road that will help our daughter to not only cope but to thrive. No doubt there will be other difficult life stages for our daughters in the years ahead, both the aspergirl and the neuro-typical one! But what I and my husband have learnt and the new skills we have acquired make us stronger and more confident to face them head on. I highly recommend Cathy's services.' Helen, London. March 2017

It will be baby steps but we will get there in the end !! Xx' February 2017

Coaching
'Cathy has been able to provide me with a deeper understanding of how the cogs in my head turn and the way I can turn them into strengths over weaknesses. The sessions we had together have helped me understand myself so that i can go about working in ways that help me run as efficiently as possible. I have been able to form my own methods of coping with the lack of attention that used to be a roadblock to me achieving the things I have wanted to. Since my coaching with Cathy, my family have commented on what a wonderful change in me that they have seen over the last few months. Thank you Cathy, the person I become from this point on and the things I go on to achieve that I wouldn’t have before (no matter how big or small), I feel like I owe to the advice and information that you provided to me during our sessions.' Liam, ADHD, Herts.  February 2017

'From only doing 6 hrs work in a whole term and hitting rock bottom, I have now completed 16 weeks of quality work in just a month and submitted today! Now that I’ve seen what I can do, it’s time to do even more!' Student, ADD, London. February 2017

Coaching
'My daughter found her first session with you really helpful and feels she will gain a great deal from working with you over the forthcoming weeks. She particularly liked the fact that you are trying to help her understand her ADD and then help her find strategies to solve the issues. Personally, I feel reassured that this gives her an emotional safe place once a week. Being a concerned Mum who now lives many miles away from my daughter, I wanted to say thank you.' Mum of Uni student, Exeter. January 2017

Coaching

I will certainly recommend you to anyone that needs help with a partner or child with autism. If we need you again we will certainly get in touch.' Married couple, Luxembourg. January 2017
