It is a pre-requisite that all members of the Side by Side team are either parents, have close family members or have the conditions themselves as we believe it gives a unique and essential depth of knowledge and understanding.
Side by Side Coaching is an online service offering confidential specialist coaching for families, adults and students with ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). This virtual service offers face to face support via video chat technology (e.g. Skype) or phone if you prefer, in the comfort of your own setting without the inconvenience or cost of travel. We have clients from across the globe including Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Asia. For further information contact us on email@example.com or see our family coaching and adult coaching pages.
Side by Side Training provides face to face trainers in PDA, Autism and ADHD for parents and professionals. It will improve understanding for anyone living or working with children and young people with these conditions. Autism and ADHD training is bespoke to the group and setting. For further information see our training page or contact us on: firstname.lastname@example.org
Good Schools Guide publish feature by Cathy May & Karen Whichello outlining signs of PDA and strategies for parents and schools.
Coaching works as a partnership between you and your coach and very much focusses on your goals. We will explore what you would like to achieve and together develop solutions to overcome any difficulties. The number of one hour sessions required varies as everyone has different needs so this can be discussed at the initial contact. A diagnosis or referral is not required.
Training is delivered in a full day course and covers key areas such as understanding PDA, how PDA differs to Autism and simple but effective techniques to help reduce anxiety, improve communication and learning outcomes for children and young people with PDA.

'Cathy acknowledged me as a human first, a parent and wife second. I felt validated and empowered to make some big decisions I've needed to take for a long time. Thank you! June 2017
'Cathy May has helped me understand my son enabling me to give him the best support possible. She has provided answers to what appeared to be overwhelming challenges and great confidence to deal with difficult external concerns such as school. The whole process couldn't have been more professional and friendly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this life changing guidance.' Jenny, Kent. March 2017
'I stumbled across Cathy's contacts on an ASD website at a particularly difficult life stage for my 9 year old Asperger daughter. Our precious child was deeply anxious and unhappy, and that effected the whole family. It was a low point for us all. Calling Cathy that day was a serendipitous moment that would change our family life. Cathy taught me and my husband the strategies and skills we needed to get our family life back on track and gave us the knowledge we needed to put us on a road that will help our daughter to not only cope but to thrive. No doubt there will be other difficult life stages for our daughters in the years ahead, both the aspergirl and the neuro-typical one! But what I and my husband have learnt and the new skills we have acquired make us stronger and more confident to face them head on. I highly recommend Cathy's services.' Helen, London. March 2017
'I just wanted to say thank you so much to Karen, myself and my boss attended your course on Friday, it was fantastic I came out of there with new ideas and a much better outlook on PDA, I've put some of your ideas into place and so far this morning has been surprisingly easier. It will be baby steps but we will get there in the end !! Xx' February 2017
